Meet the EnsembleJT Kane (host):
JT is currently the Dean of Visiting Faculty and Orchestra Manager for the New World Symphony (NWS). Before joining NWS, he held the position as the Artistic Operations Manager for Artis—Naples, was the Personnel and Popular Programming Manager with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and spent five summers at the Aspen Music Festival and School as the Manager of Orchestral Operations. JT is a recent graduate of the 2019-2020 League of American Orchestras Emerging Leaders Program and is an alum of the Leagues Essentials of Orchestra Management Program. He is proud to serve on the consortium for the National Alliance for Audition Support (NAAS) which is a national initiative to increase diversity in American orchestras, and he helps facilitate their Audition Intensives.
As a violist, JT was the Assistant Principal Violist for the Chattanooga Symphony, and for six seasons was the Acting Assistant Principal Violist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa in Veracruz, Mexico. While in Xalapa, he was the viola professor at the Facultad de Música- Universidad Veracruzana, and the Instituto Superior de Música del Estado de Veracruz.
JT received his Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the Harid Conservatory (now the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University) and his Master of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. During the summer, JT enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa traveling the world and finding beauty wherever they land.
Matt Corey (cohost/producer):
Matt earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degree in bassoon performance at the University of Miami School of Music, and is currently a member of The Symphonia. He is the resident sound designer at Gablestage, where he collaborated on over 80 plays with the late Joseph Adler. He is also the resident sound designer for Theatre Lab, and Zoetic Stage, and has earned Carbonell Awards for his designs of The Pillowman, Talk Radio, Broadsword, Blasted, The Birds, The Mountaintop, and The Night of the Iguana.
By day, Matt is the President and CEO of Insight for the Blind in Fort Lauderdale, a 45-year-old charity devoted to recording books, magazines, and other accessible media for the blind and print disabled.
